Safety at our Camps

At Swiss Adventure Camp the health, safety and welfare of our campers are of paramount importance and we insist on the highest possible standards of safety in absolutely all areas of our program.  Each camp begins with briefing on safety issues relevant to that activity. We have stringent requirements on safety gear relevant to the sport.

CARE OF INJURY

In the Zürich Region

In keeping with the high level of quality Swiss Adventure Camp offers our participants we have developed a close cooperation and relationship with the exceptional sports doctors at the SportClinic Zürich.  In case of an injury requiring attention during the camp day we are able to contact them for consultation for our participants and be provided a timely appointment within their office hours.

After Hours

If a participant develops complications in the evening due to an injury earlier in the day participants are encouraged to find assistance and care at the Klinik Hirslanden where there is an excellent 24hour medical emergency staff. Klinik Hirslanden also has a branch of the SportClinic Zürich. SportClinic Doctors are on call after hours and can be requested by the patient upon arrival.

In the Mountains
When possible we will direct injuries to the closest Swiss Olympic Medical Center in the area.

REGA
In severe emergencies we will call the Swiss airlift service Rega. Rega comes to the aid of people in distress, providing swift, professional medical assistance by air. In order to do this, it employs state-of-the-art operating resources, such as helicopters and air-ambulances. Rega’s workforce comprises qualified, experienced staff.  Rega is supported and funded by its patrons. In grateful acknowledgement of this support, Rega waives the costs of rescue missions carried out on patrons’ behalf, providing that these costs are not covered by a health or accident insurance.  We encourage all participants and their families to become annual members and support this outstanding Swiss service.
