24 year old Matthias began his climbing career at the age of eleven. He holds a "J+S Leiter 2 certificate" in sportclimbing and mountaineering and is a climbing fanatic. He loves spending his leisure time together with friends and experiencing the Swiss mountains with all the wonderful landscapes. Whether sportclimbing, ice climbing, mountaineering, or skiing, Matthias is in his element and knows how to infect others with the contagious climbing virus! In 2004 he placed on the podium in ALL THREE under 18 Swiss Master Championships for speed climbing, lead climbing and bouldering. From 2005 through 2008, he was a member of the Swiss Climbing Team and competed in national and international competitions. Below are some of his accomplishments at these competitins:

Besides studying Business Administration (IM) at the University of Northwestern Switzerland and being a climbing instructor at the climbing gym in St. Gallen, Matthias is a young entrepreneur and the co-founder of the climbing brand Scalamalade. Scalamalade is a Swiss firm that designs, produces, and distributes climbing clothing for Her and Him.
