Tricking - October 17 & 18, AM Session

Tricking Workshops Camp Zurich Switzerland for kids and teens

Tricking (short for “martial arts tricking”) is the informal name of a relatively new underground alternative sport movement, combining martial arts, gymnastics, breakdance and other movements to create an “aesthetic blend of flips, kicks, and twists.” Tricking incorporates a variety of moves from different arts such as flips from gymnastics, 540 kick from Taekwondo, butterfly twist from Wushu and double leg from Capoeira. Tricking is recognizable by its flashy kicks, complex flips and twists, and its highly stylized movements which separate it from other arts. An individual who practises tricking is typically referred to as a “trickster” or “tricker”.

Program:
Monday:  Basic jumpkicks, basic gymnastics and Capoeira basics.
Tuesday: Basic jumpkicks, basic gymnastics, Capoeira basics, beginning combintions and building a form.

Parkour Camp April 2 - 6

Parkour (or "le parkour" & 'pk' ) was invented in 1988 in the Lisses suburb of Paris by the legendary David Belle. After a short time he built a small crew of traceurs including Sebastien Foucan and the Yamakasi.

Parkour is the art of efficient and progressive movement. The main goal is to overcome any obstacle within one`s path by adapting one`s movements to the environment. Parkour is not just physical, it also has a strong mental component.

Parkour requires... consistent, disciplined training with an emphasis on functional strength, physical conditioning, balance, creativity, fluidity, control, precision, spatial awareness, and looking beyond the traditional use of objects.

Parkour movements typically include... running, jumping, vaulting, climbing, balancing, and quadrupedal movement. Movements from other physical disciplines are often incorporated, but acrobatics or tricking alone do not constitute parkour.

Parkour training focuses on… physical fitness, the mental resilience, creative use of the surrounding, individual maturity, safety, longevity, personal responsibility, and self-improvement. It discourages reckless behavior, showing off, and dangerous stunts.

Parkour practitioners value... community, humility, positive collaboration, sharing of knowledge, and the importance of play in human life while demonstrating respect for all people, places, and spaces.

This camp is for students who are completely new to Parkour or have already attended any one of our Parkour Camps.  Parkour is always done at your own personal level.

Swiss Adventure Camp is proud to offer expert parkour intsruction by the team at ParkourONE which is based in Bern and is at the very heart of the European Parkour movement.  Watch their video above!
